A bit about me. . .

"Being an artist is my way of expressing my love for people, the world and living life to the fullest!"
~Susan Ogilvie
An artist's heart
Susan Ogilvie was born and raised in Southern California, with a decidedly "pop culture" influence to inform her art foundation. Between cartooning, animation and children's books, Susan began a long love of drawing, painting and creating. Studying at Chaffey College, Susan began her art career as a graphic artist, owning and operating Windsor Graphics, which specialized in logo design, magazine layout and production as well as illustration and advertising. After selling Windsor Graphics, Susan pursued newspaper production in the Pacific Northwest, achieving her BFA in Fine Art at Northwest College of Art and Design. Upon graduating, Susan entered graduate school at Academy of Art University, San Francisco, earning an MFA in Traditional Illustration with an emphasis in Children's Book Illustration and Magazine Illustration. She also has an MA in Art History with a focus in Medieval and Renaissance studies. She is currently a freelance illustrator as well as an instructor at Olympic Community College in art history, drawing, painting and illustration. Susan is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writer's and Illustrators as well as a charter member of AIGA.
Susan lives in the woods of the Pacific Northwest with her husband and children.
